FAQ

How long does it take to make a dress from ordering?

As all our dresses and veils are made by hand from the date of order, we require 6-8 weeks to complete any order. This time frame is from initial confirmed order to final shipping.

Occasionally we may be able to work to a shorter time frame if requested. This would depend on how busy our production is at the time. For brides wishing for an express service please email us directly and we will do our best to accommodate you. info@susannarachel.com

Can I change or customise any of your designs?

Yes, it is possible to partially customise an existing design, however this would require a phone call or video call to discuss any changes and ensure they were possible without compromising the design. This would result in an additional fee to cover the additional pattern cutting time and changes in material/making costs, which would be discussed, agreed and payment received prior to any work commencing.

How accurately will my dress fit?

All our dresses are made to standardised dress patterns. So as long as you order the correct size then your dress should fit. However, everyone has a different body shape and it is impossible to guarantee a dress will fit perfectly. We recommend you find a local tailor to make any small changes to the fit that may be necessary.

I am hoping to lose some weight before my wedding, should I order a different size to account for this?

In our experience we have found that most brides often lose a little weight before their big day. However, everyone is different and you have no way of knowing how your body shape will change. We deliberately only take 6-8 weeks to create your dress so that you don't have to order too far in advance of your wedding, incase you are planning on losing a lot of weight. Often brides will place an order for their dress, but ask to us to delay the manufacture until 4 months before their special day, so they can retake their measurements and update us via email with any changes.

We leave a sufficient allowance in every seam so that it is possible for you to alter the dress by a local seamstress for any last minute tweaks.

We also recommend you don't order a dress that is too small, it is far easier to take in a dress that is slightly larger, than to put too much pressure on yourself to fit into something that is too small.

Where are your dresses made?

For all online orders our dresses and veils are hand made from our in house design and production studio. Nothing is out sourced and the dress or veil never leaves the studio until it is shipped directly to you. We source all our materials from Europe.

Are your dresses stocked anywhere else?

No. Currently we sell exclusively online. Our style of work is very unique and for us direct contact with our clients is essential, rather than through a third party seller.

Can you send samples to try?

Our dresses are all made to order so we can't send out a sample dress, however at a small cost (£10) we are happy to send swatches of both the dress and veil materials for you to see if required. Sometimes we find this is helpful for a bride looking to colour match a veil to a dress etc.

Will there be any import taxes on my dress?

Many countries will charge an import tax or duty on any product shipped to them. The courier will inform you of the amount and it will be payable on receiving the parcel from the courier. We do not cover the costs at your end, and these will change depending on which country you reside in.

How do I take my measurements?

We have a simple video tutorial in 'Size & fit' page on our website which illustrates how to accurately take the measurements you need to provide us with. Please watch it and follow closely to ensure you measurements are precise. Please provide these measurements on the notes section when adding your item to your online shopping cart.

My measurements suggest I am sitting in different sizes, what size would you recommend in this instance?

For most of us, our body shapes are unique and never 'standard'. We recommend you take the measurements that fit the larger size and order that one. It is relatively simple to take a dress in, but harder to let one out! If you are unsure on what size to order please email us directly with your measurements and we can help guide you to the best size to fit you.
